About Me: I’m a teenage TCK, ex-pat, who has lived in the Middle East for over 15 years (14 years in Syria). I’ve been to over 13 countries, but have yet to master the chopsticks. I like reading, art, music but most of all, design!!! I love design (art, interior, product, etc.) and architecture! I love Syria, traveling, my family and God. My name is Ibtisam, which in an Arabic name that means “smile”. So it’s kind of my logo. Hence the everywhere.

Interests: Theology, literature, culture, music, art, travel, history, Italy, the Middle East, Islam, world religions, philosophy, Italian, Arabic, geography, psychology, dance, travel, and violin.

Favorite Music: I like deeper voices and meaningful, thought-out lyrics. I don’t like bubble gum or dance mix music. I like indie rock and adult alternative. Most of my favorite bands are the ones not very many people have heard about. (See main blog page for more details)

Favorite Movies: Take the Lead-The Phonebooth-LOTR were good-Napoleon Dynamite-The Simpsons Movie-The Village-Blood Diamond-The Inside Man was pretty good-I liked all the Bournes-Caramel-The Syrian Bride-Chocolate-Penelope-The Dark Knight-Movies by Hitchcock

Favorite Books: I like historical fiction, classics, and whatever my brother happens to be writing. Some of my favorite authors are Faulkner, Kafka, T.S.Elliot, and Amin Maalouf but, I love so many books I can’t say which are my favorites!!!!
